Best Books for 3-5 Years Kids

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to my debut post 'How To Raise A Reader'. Inspired by your responses, we have decided to write a series on books for kids.

Here's the first one about the best books for 3-5 years old kids.

3-5 years old kids are inquisitive in nature. They are discovering the world and are full of questions. They love to explore their surroundings, their belongings, and everything they come in contact with.

Naturally, you need lots of activities to keep them occupied and busy. Books are one of the best things that you can give your kids that can pacify their inquisitive minds and keep them occupied for a long time.

Here are a few books our kid loved to read when he was a 3-5 years old kid.

Best Books for 3-5 Years Kids

1. Peppa Pig: Little Library

Our son loves Peppa pig! So, when I discovered this set of books on Amazon, I had to get it. And to no one's surprise, my son loved it. You can also create a puzzle with the six books that can be solved easily.

2. Hello, World! My Body (Illustration)

To answer 999 questions a day about his body, we got him this book. It's simple, well-illustrated with captions that are easy to understand.

3. Giraffes Can't Dance

A light-hearted story that was equally loved by our son and us.

4. Touch Think Learn ABC

An awesome board book that is available on Amazon. It is highly interactive and that is why it can keep your child occupied for a long time. Our son loved it and will be your child.

5. Panchatantra Tales

This timeless gem that we grew up on was our first choice when we wanted to introduce storybooks with morals. Panchatantra tales are loved by everyone and our kid was not an exception.

6. Oxford Atlas

Well, this is not a storybook or an illustration but when our son was quizzing us relentlessly, I, being a Geography student, wanted to introduce him to the world of maps. So, we had an atlas and a globe that he spent hours looking at and drawing and watching YouTube videos on various countries.

7. Waiting is not easy!

An excellent book that your kid would love to read. If you are looking for a book to introduce stories for your kid, this is one of the best books you can choose. It is available on Amazon

Know Children Writer XII-Janhavi Samant

Janhavi Samant is a children’s author, journalist, and content marketing professional with a deep passion for storytelling. Her love for tales began in childhood, listening to her grandma and parents share a variety of stories—funny, heroic, tragic, and even outright bizarre. These early experiences instilled in her a lifelong fascination with the power of stories to connect and entertain. As a mother, Samant has continued this storytelling tradition. She finds joy in retelling, recycling, and even creating new tales for her children at bedtime. For her, these moments are not just about entertainment; they are about building strong, enduring bonds between parents and kids. She believes stories are the simplest and most powerful way to foster imagination, empathy, and creativity. “Stories help us envision ourselves in different places and situations,” she says, “allowing us to grow our perspectives and dream bigger.” Janhavi Samant’s books resonate with humor, nostalgia, and the ...

Bedtime stories

As parents, we are always busy with different levels of work. Official, household chores, social communications, and many more. We have limited time to warm up our bonding. Despite my busy schedule, I managed time for Neel's (my son) bedtime.  Neel's bedtime started at 8:30-9:30pm. Before fall asleep both of us interact about numerous topics. First 10-15 minutes we discuss an imaginary world that is Hot wheel cars, Airplanes, SMART house, Space station, Dinosaurs, Dragon, Solar systems, and many more. Thereafter I started to tell some short stories that give him morale to his inquisitive mind for about 5-8 minutes. Finally, I sing lullabies cuddle over a hand. Normally I sing only one lullaby but sometimes more than two songs. Simultaneously I also massage his foot, head, and hand. I often massage the back and whole body for his ultimate relaxation. This is the precious moment of both of us or Ourtime . This may be reciprocal and I also feel ultimate relaxation....
