Pam Ayres is a British author, poet, broadcaster, and entertainer. Many of her poems are in school textbooks around the world, including the U.K. and the U.S.A. Ayres performs solo stage shows throughout the U.K. and has also toured Australia and New Zealand. She is one of a handful of comedians to have performed at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. She has appeared at many Literary and Arts festivals worldwide. Ayres appears regularly on TV and radio, especially BBC  Radio 4. Ayres was awarded the MBE in 2004 for service to literature and entertainment. Some of her popular books for children include
