Anant Pai (September 1929- February 2011) was the founder of the hugely popular comic storybook brand, Amar Chitra Katha

Launched in 1967 with nearly 600 titles and more than 100 million copies sold, Amar Chitra Katha is a household name in India. Based on mythological stories, the comics gained huge popularity rapidly all over the country, and Pai came to be lovingly addressed with the famous nickname, ‘Uncle Pai,’ by children.

Some of his books, made with his extraordinary team, for children include:
